Achilles heel of a turbo Porsche? Not having enough money to fix it when it breaks.

Having owned two of them, I can tell you that they are pretty reliable overall. They have a few issues like cardan shafts blowing up, plastic coolant pipes under intake leaking catastrophically and a few other minor things. The last one I had I sold with 160k miles on it and was still running great. They get horrible gas mileage but drive like a big sports car with more power than you’d need. If you want to own one on the cheap you’ll need to be able to DIY some stuff or havre a good and reasonable indy. This example is a Turbo S, which has an additional 70 horsepower over the standard Turbo, which is already fast. I would recommend one for sure but be smart about the purchase!

I start looking at Cayennes, but realize I would really really really want the GTS.
Sure the Turbo S is great and I’m sure I’d love it and all, but eventually I’d end up along side a GTS and my life would suddenly be full of regret.
Then I compare prices between trim levels and I cry a little inside.

I know I’m going to want to buy a second car once I start working, and I know I want an SUV, but I can’t decide between a Cayenne Turbo, a V10 TDI Touraeg, a 1999 Suburban, or an early Escalade ESV Platinum edition.

I’m just excited to dump my S600 in a few years for an S65 lol. I’m importing a Toyota Century in 2022. I’m beyond excited for that. I also want some sort of small sports car at some point, maybe an S2000.
